Electric bikes and scooters operate in environments where rain, road splash, vibration and frequent charging connections are part of normal use. The connector between the battery, controller, charger and wiring harness must do more than make an electrical connection. It must support a dependable connection path that fits the vehicle layout and service process.
Define the power and signal path first
Before choosing a waterproof connector for an electric bike or scooter, define which circuits need to pass through the interface. Some applications require a power-only connection, while others combine power with low-current signal contacts for battery management, communication, sensing or interlock functions.
CONNIXTECH’s current catalogue includes two-wheeled EV connector configurations with 2+4 and 2+6 core arrangements. These configurations are listed for 50A / 300V e-mobility use with IP67 protection and quick mating. The right arrangement depends on the battery architecture and the functions required at the connection point.
Consider waterproof protection as a complete assembly
Waterproof performance depends on the complete assembled connection, not only the connector housing. The mating condition, cable outlet, strain relief, panel position and routing direction all affect how the connection performs in service. An outdoor vehicle connection should be evaluated in the actual installation position rather than as an isolated component.
Match the connection method to vehicle use
A practical EV connector should be easy to mate during assembly and service while remaining secure during vehicle movement. Connection frequency, available installation space and expected vibration should all influence the choice of connector structure. A clearly defined mating process also helps maintenance teams avoid incorrect or incomplete connections.
Do not overlook cable routing
The connector and cable assembly should be designed together. Cable length, wire size, bend direction and strain relief need to match the battery enclosure and vehicle frame. A well-routed assembly helps reduce stress at the connection point and makes production installation more repeatable.
When requesting a quotation, share the vehicle type, battery voltage, expected current, signal requirements, installation space, mating direction and cable length. Browse verified configurations in the Product Centre or request a quote for a project review.
