For an electric motorcycle, e-bike or battery-swap system, select the connector by continuous current, peak current, system voltage, power and signal contact count, cable size, mating frequency and environmental exposure. For applications around 50A that require both power and control circuits, an M23 2+4 or 2+1+5 waterproof connector can be a practical starting point. Waterproof Connections for Electric Two-Wheelers

An electric two-wheeler may use separate connections for the battery, motor, controller, charger, display, brakes and lighting. What is the difference between a 2+4 and a 2+1+5 connector?

A 2+4 connector combines two power contacts with four signal contacts. A 2+1+5 configuration combines two power contacts, one protective contact and five signal contacts. The additional circuits may be assigned to temperature sensing, communication, identification, interlock or other control functions according to the approved pinout.

Can an M23 connector carry 50A?

Selected CONNIXTECH M23 high-current configurations are rated up to 50A under specified test conditions. Actual allowable current depends on the exact contact design, cable cross-section, ambient temperature, installation method and temperature-rise requirement. Confirm the final rating on the approved specification and drawing.

Is an IP67 connector waterproof when disconnected?

Not automatically. The IP rating may apply only when the plug and receptacle are correctly mated. When a connector remains disconnected outdoors, a compatible sealing cap and the specified installation method may be required.

Can the cable length wire gauge and pinout be customized?

Yes. CONNIXTECH supports OEM and ODM cable assemblies with custom cable length, conductor size, pin-to-pin wiring, connector orientation, overmolding, labels and packaging. Electrical requirements and drawings should be reviewed before sampling.
